Concrete Works is pleased to announce that we are now the exclusive trained installers of SEMCO Modern Seamless Surfaces in Bermuda.
SEMCO X-bond Seamless Stone Surface is a non-porous seamless stone surface that can be used on floors; walls; ceilings; countertops; porches/pool decks; inside pools/ Jacuzzis; basements and can be used interior and exterior, above and below grade. X-Bond can be installed in several finishes ranging from a polished look and feel to an ADA Compliant Non Slip Surface. X-Bond Seamless Stone allows remodel without removal and can be applied over any existing structurally sound hard surface including: concrete; existing overlays; cement board; tile; stone; terracotta, vinyl; epoxy and wood. SEMCO Seamless Surfaces can be installed over existing cracks and control joints in the substrate. It is waterproof; stain proof; resistant to Hydro-Static pressure; flexible enough to apply over Plexiglas and bend without cracking; chemical resistant; resistant up to 600° F; freeze thaw cycle resistant; cost effective and in range with other surfacing materials, sheet goods and tile. X-Bond Stone is INCAPABLE of delamination due to its chemical bonding method. It has unlimited design potential and colour freedom; high psi (10,000 psi) and durability; UV resistant colour systems and has easier ongoing maintenance in most cases. SEMCO X-Bond uses Green materials that can provide LEED points for the U.S. Green Building Council and features minimal or no odour and are extremely low in VOC. SEMCO X-Bond Seamless Surfaces have fast turn times for commercial retail and industrial applications.
SEMCO'S X-Bond Seamless Stone Surface has the following benefits:
Because the facts are almost unbelievable it is important to understand why X-Bond works the way that it does.
Here is a simple analogy to explain the bond:
Cement products, Adhered Goods and Overlays
When you look at these products, under a microscope, the individual molecules are bunched close together like a jar of marbles. When these products bond to the substrate it is an ADHESIVE bond where the molecules meet the substrate. The reason most smooth surfaces are etched is to create more of a substrate and “Velcro” effect to grip and stick. The spaces between the molecules are holes for moisture, microbes, etc. and allow weakness for cracking or breaking that continues to break. This is laid on top of the original surface. Basically this is like a Band-Aid on a knuckle that comes off after days/ hours of movement and washing hands. It “unsticks”.
X-Bond Seamless Stone Surfaces
When you look at X-Bond under a microscope the molecules are interlinked with one another, with no gaps or spaces in between. When X-Bond bonds to the substrate it has a chemical bond at a molecular level. Each individual molecule will link and marry with each individual molecule of the substrate This is why X-Bond can bond to any surface, is waterproof, and doesn’t break or crack like cementious materials. X-Bond will also expand and contract with the existing movements of substrate. This is now a part of the existing surface.
So X-Bond is more like a tattoo on your knuckle. You can flex your hand, get wrinkled and wash it for the next 20 years and it won’t “unstick”.
These are the reasons that X-Bond is not an overlay. X-Bond is a Seamless Stone Surface.

SEMCO'S X-Bond Seamless Stone Surface has the following benefits:
- Remodel without Removal allows X-Bond to chemically bond to any existing hard surface
- One - source material that can be used above/ below grade, interior/ exterior, vertical/ horizontal, etc. (one Source = One Spec and One Contractor)
- Seamless/ nonporous
- Waterproof and resistant to hydro- static pressure from substrate up to 19psi
- Green materials that can provide LEED points for the U.S. Green Building Council, and feature minimal or no odour.
- 2-3 hours dry time allow for full foot traffic soon after installation. Fast turn times can be used in an open for profit business without closing down, in some cases.
- Unlimited design potential and colour freedoms.
- High PSI and durability
- Flexible enough to apply over Plexiglas and bend with our cracking
- UV resistant color System
- Freeze than cycle resistance
- Chemical resistant
- Applications up to 8” thick possible.
- Resistant up to 600° F for commercial kitchen use
- Can be applied in freezer walk in for commercial kitchens
- Has been top specified product for public and hospitality use for over 20 years
- INCAPABLE of delimitation due to its chemical bonding method
- Cost effective and in range with other surfacing materials, sheet goods and tile
- Easier ongoing maintenance in most cases
- SEMCO has projects all over the world that are over 20 years old with little to no ongoing maintenance.
